How to Organize an RC Touring Car Pit Table

A messy pit table costs you time. Every minute spent hunting for a spring or a loose screw is a minute you are not tuning, and between rounds minutes matter. Here is a simple setup that works for 1/10 electric touring cars.

Get the car off the table. Working on a car that is sitting on the table means it rolls, tips and gets bumped. A dedicated stand holds the car steady at the right height so you can reach the suspension, tires and electronics without fighting it. Our 1/10 Touring Car Stand is 3D-printed to order in 10 colors: https://www.cheesegatorhobbies.com/product-page/touring-car-stand-110th

Give springs and sway bars a home. Springs are small, look alike and are easy to mix up. Keep them sorted by rate and label the slots, so a spring change is a quick swap instead of a search. The 1/10 Touring Car Spring and Sway Bar Box holds both new and old style springs plus carbon sway bars and rods: https://www.cheesegatorhobbies.com/product-page/110-tc-spring-n-bar-box

Use a tray for loose hardware. Screws, ball studs, e-clips and shims should never live loose on the table. A shallow tray catches them while you work and lets you see everything at a glance. Our RC Pit Tray is made for exactly this: https://www.cheesegatorhobbies.com/product-page/pit-tray

Keep tools in one fixed spot. Pick a place for your hex drivers, nut driver and pliers and always return them there. You will find the right tool by muscle memory instead of by looking.

Keep your radio and batteries within reach but out of the way. Put the transmitter and charged packs on one side, and tools and parts on the other, so you never reach across the car.

A quick between-rounds routine: set the car on the stand, check tires and clean as needed, make one change at a time and write it down, then return every part and tool to its spot.

A transmitter that slides around or tips over on the pit table is an easy way to drop and damage a radio. A standing foot keeps it level and steady while you work on the car.
